*Fisk & Crawford – The State of Coal Power in Chicago*
This half-day summit will give attendees an overview of the state of
coal power in Chicago. Stakeholders will present their current analysis
of the benefits and costs of maintaining F&C on the grid. There will be
presentations by key stakeholders like the power industry, public health
officials, the City of Chicago, as well as environmental and community
groups. Come find out and share your knowledge of the current state of
our understanding of what roles Fisk and Crawford play in Chicago region
and beyond.
*Key questions* to be answered include: What is our current thinking
about the benefits and costs of F&C? What impact will new infrastructure
have on the future of F&C if any? What are the economic benefits
tradeoffs of various plans to clean up F&C? What are possible and likely
outcomes given the current legislative/litigative environment?
*Who should attend?* Industry, government, NPO and community groups
including industry experts, policy advocates, scientists, community
activists, city and county government, public health officials, and the
interested public; anyone interested in learning about the current state
of coal power in Chicago.
Invited speakers include: Aldermen, DOE, Mayor’s office, Midwest
Generation, Center For Neighborhood Technology, Environmental Law and
Policy Center, Sierra Club, Little Village Environmental Justice
Organization, Pilsen Environmental Rights and Reform Organization.
