Abstract:
Ideological opponents of the precautionary principle retell the false story of a choler epidemic supposedly being cause of health officials taking precautionary action in Peru in 1991, turning of water chlorination systems to avoid the dangers of cancer from chlorination by products. The story was revealed as untrue in 1992, but it is still being retold -- and even embellished with new fictional elemnts in 2001 and beyond.
