Mesothelioma is a terminal cancer of the lung and abdomen, and it requires more specialized treatment than other cancers of the lung. Mesothelioma is a direct result of exposure to asbestos fibers.

Action for a Better Community (ABC) is a leader in encouraging, supporting, and developing self-sufficiency among low-income families in Monroe County. They provide these families with childcare and education, job training and job placement, and other community services such as crisis intervention and energy conservation programs. ABC efforts have been extended to include Ontario County as well.

The British Asbestos Newsletter is a quarterly publication which is distributed to victim support groups, public bodies, lawyers, solicitors, barristers, researchers, doctors, academics and environmentalists in over thirty countries. Initially the focus of the articles was on asbestos-related news in Britain but latterly European, Australian and international events have been covered. The deciding factor is that all stories contribute something towards the understanding of asbestos-related topics in differring areas: legal, medical, historic, economic, corporate, sociological, etc.

Workers' Health International Newsletter (WHIN) aims to highlight the problems facing working people as a result of the globalization of trade and globalization of capital. WHIN aims to provide trade unions and safety activists with the resources and information they need to expose and challenge threats to workplace health and safety.

The NYCOSH website provides more than 100 pages of news and information about on-the-job safety and health, plus more than 800 links to more information on the Internet that can be used to enhance occupational safety.

While the Great Lakes Center takes a universal approach to improving, promoting, and maintaining the health of workers and communities, they devote special attention to the problems and needs of minority and disadvantaged workers and communities, the specific occupational and environmental safety and health needs of their region, and the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to addressing these needs.

Based on a BBC documentary of the same name, the Toxic Trail website focuses on the problems created by pesticides in South-East Asia.
