Founded by the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell, New Jersey, it is rooted in a spirituality that reverences Earth as a primary revelation of the divine. Since 1986 Genesis Farm has been a part of the Community and theSupported Agriculture (CSA) movement.

CENYC is a privately funded organization in the Office of the Mayor. The group promotes environmental awareness and solutions to environmental problems.
